2013 Emmy Fashion

I didn’t watch much of the Emmys last night because, um Breaking Bad, but you better believe I was stalking the internet (is that possible?) during commercial breaks to check out all of the fashionistas.

My take on last night’s Emmy fashion is: meh. There wasn’t anything incredibly extraordinary. There wasn’t any major train wreck (although Heidi Klum’s choking neckline and Amanda Peet’s frump were close). There were a lot of looks that could have been amazing if it wasn’t for terrible hair and/or makeup (I’m talking to you, Sarah Hyland).

Still I definitely had some favorites:

Color was huge on this year’s red carpet, as you can tell by all the jewel tones in my faves list. Purple was probably the most popular color choice, but there was also a lot of emerald. Other big trends were sheer legs and pink.

2013 Emmy fashion trend: sheer bottoms

Lena Headey in Alessandra Rich, Julianne Hough in Jenny Packham,
Leslie Mann in J. Mendel

2103 Emmy fashion trend: pink

Laura Dern in Naeem Khan, January Jones in Givenchy,
Rose Byrne in Calvin Klein Collection

I’m on the fence about all of these trendy guys. I think I like all of the pinks. There’s something about each of them that holds me back though. And I don’t know what to think about the sheer legs. I just wish the whole forgetting to wear pants thing wasn’t a trend. Julianne Hough’s dress is so close to perfection, but I think it’s the sheer leg that ruins it for me.

Did you watch last night? Which looks did you think were hits and misses?

  1. I hear you on the “pink” – I like them but I am not sure I like them enough! And I loved Robin Wright in Ralph Lauren. Perfection!
