My Week Through Instagram

Last week was pretty crappy. Not in a my world is crumbling kind of way. I keep trying to remind myself of that. We’re all healthy. We’re all here. I should consider myself lucky. But the week was still crappy.

It was one of those weeks where just when you think the universe couldn’t possibly throw anything else at you, it gets worse. And then you laugh. That’s all that was left to do. I laughed and laughed and felt (slightly, marginally) better.

This week, I’m trying hard to stop wallowing and focus on the positive. The little things that tell me it really could be worse.

instagram shotThere were bedtime snuggles with my babies.

Instagram shotThere were fat little feet peeking out from underneath blankets.

Instagram shotThere was a fabulous diva in layers upon layers of costume jewelry in preparation for her buddy’s birthday party.

Instagram shotThere was that same diva (in a different but just as fabulous outfit) showering Rara in love and pre-birthday beauty treatments (magic hair dye and curling brush included).

instagram shotThe was a little bean who is suddenly madly in love with books and story time. She even pretends she wants to nap in order to curl up in bed and shout “book!” at me.

These are the things that really matter. The things that I am thankful for. As long as I can remember them and push the other junk aside, everything will be OK.

This song has helped too. Especially singing it (off key) at the top of my lungs without shame. If you’re having a rough day, I totally recommend it.

  1. Aww, I’m sorry you had a tough week. My best advice for getting myself out of a funk is nothing lasts forever, the good times nor the bad. Enjoy and appreciate it when things go smoothly and know that it will get better when things don’t. Hang in there girl!

Super sweet pictures. They made me smile.
