So I’ve totally decided that 2013 is going to be my year. I was getting into the whole new year, new me frame of mind already thanks to opportunities on the horizon and an interesting new way of looking at the world after my doula training course. But then Pantone went and solidified it for me by declaring emerald green the color of the year.

Um, hello! That’s so my color!

I’m way into green in the first place. It’s calm and soothing… and totally works with my skin tone (unlike that bitch yellow). But there’s something about emerald that’s on another level.

To me, kelly green is the fun loving hippie dippy cousin. She likes a good time and she’s a total flirt. Sage green is way more reserved and conservative. But emerald green? She’s the sophisticated, self-actualized version of her pals. She’s the one who, if you present her with a difficult task, is all I got this! She holds on to bits and pieces of the others but she’s way more confident and in charge.

I guess what I’m saying is, I want to be emerald. That is the me I’m hoping to see in 2013 and when Pantone declared it the color of the year, I was all “I got this!”

So, of course, I went on a hunt for emerald fashion finds since it’s my new spirit color and all.

Emerald: Pantone Color of the Year

ModCloth dress / Charlotte Russe teardrop earrings (only $6!!!) / Mossimo Supply Co. cardigan / Ruche flats / Dorothy Perkins peplum top / ModCloth scarf / Urban Decay eyeshadow in Kush / Sheer gem blouseKenneth Cole peacoat / Land’s End chenille throw / Fossil clutch

Is there a color that you have a (possibly unhealthy) attachment to? One that you feel the need to personify? Or am I the only one on this brightly-colored crazy train?
