Back to School Shopping (Like a Boss)

So, um, it’s August already. I’m not really sure how it snuck up on us so quickly, but it’s here. And suddenly everyone is talking back to school. To me, it seems a little premature. My little bubs doesn’t officially become a second grader until the second week of September.

But still, you better believe if there’s some sort of sale happening this cheap momma is diving in headfirst no matter how premature it might seem. When I heard Old Navy (one of our favorite stores) was having a $10 and under back to school sale (through August 14th, btw) I packed up the babes and drove on over.

Luckily for me (maybe), my girls are fans of shopping—well, at least shopping for themselves. Sam was so gung ho, the first thing she asked was if she could try stuff on in the dressing room. The squeals that resulted had dogs alarmed for miles.

She grabbed a way-too-large pile and when she noticed that little “runway” they have set up, it was officially the Best Shopping Trip Ever (if you mosey on over to Old Navy while it’s still up you can take a photo of your kids and tag it with #MyONStyle for a chance to appear on www.oldnavy.com/myONstyle). Luckily, we weren’t in a rush.

This is what the dressing room looked like while girlfriend tried on her first (of like fifty) outfit. Ellie wasn’t particularly thrilled that she was locked up in stroller prison while big sister got to put on her own personal fashion show, so we let her try on whichever shoes Sam wasn’t wearing (either blue sparkles or zebra with neon trim). Ellie was more than ok with that. She’s loves all of the shoes.

So here’s a little look at what went down in the dressing room (including Sam’s first selfie, I die!).

At this point I had to drag her out of there (and pare down her selection a wee bit) before baby girl had a full on conniption.

Of course, never one to miss a close up, Miss Thing had to make one last stop on the runway before we checked out.

Seriously, I’m pretty sure that will go down as the least stressful back to school shopping experience in the history of ever. And if some sort of meltdown did go down, I could’ve bribed her with the sweepstakes they’ve got going with Nickelodeon.
