shop branding

I’ve been quietly plotting to reopen an Etsy accessories shop next month (well, I guess the whole quiet part depends on who you ask… my husband would probably tell you that I’m anything but quiet). Actually, I’ve been talking about opening it back up for almost two years at this point, but I’ve made it my mission for March.

I’ve gotten a bunch of freelance projects recently (score) that have distracted me a bit (boo), but I’m getting back on track. I don’t have any behind the scenes shots to show for it yet, but I can share my branding inspiration board.

I’m a big geek when it comes to inspiration boards (which explains my Pinterest addiction). It really helps me tame all of the ideas that I have running through my head and make them more focused. I get a better sense of the things that I’m really attracted to for an idea and I get to see how some of my thoughts mesh… or how they fight each other.

For my new shop I’m all about bright colors, geometric shapes, and fun packaging with lots of texture. I’m slowly but surely pulling all of the pieces together and I can’t wait to show you more!

In the meantime, I have two questions for you:

Do you ever use inspiration boards to center your thoughts? and What’s your favorite piece of jewelry?
