Binge-Watching Season Is Upon Us!

binge-watching season

This post was sponsored by Klondike as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. I received complimentary products to facilitate my review but shoved them in my face all on my own.

I’m a little depressed (and, apparently, really dramatic). If you follow me on Instagram, you know that the girls and I have been obsessed with catching the sunset lately. We make sure we get down to the riverfront about a half hour before sunset so that we can watch the sun dip behind the mountains on the other side of the river.

I just Googled “sunset” to see what time we’d need to get there tonight and found that it sets at 4:48. 4:48! Curse you, daylight savings time!

I already feel myself sliding into hibernation mode. I want all of the cozy blankets, fuzzy socks, and comfort foods. And I don’t want to leave the house. I just want to curl up on my favorite spot on the couch and binge watch TV shows while nibbling a Klondike bar until there’s more sunlight and life on the trees again.

Treat Yo Self | Crafty Girls Night Out

Orange Splot Art Spot: Westchester Girls Crafty Night Out

Orange Splot Art Spot: Westchester Crafty Girls Night OutTreat Yo Self is a series that focuses on inexpensive indulgences that make you feel good without feeling guilty. Because when momma’s not happy, nobody is happy.

Sometimes the best way to treat yourself is to get out and laugh your butt off with some of your favorite ladies. Nothing helps you get out of your own head (and your own way) better than some quality time with the girls who know you best. Contrary to popular belief, this does not have to involve a scroll-like bar tab.

A month or so ago my pal Janine and I had a girlie date at Orange Splot Art Spot’s Maker Night. It’s basically a crafty, adult only (BYOB) night out. It was glorious. $25 and glorious.

Top 5 Tuesday | 90s One Hit Wonders

I’m a big fat nineties nerd. I love it. All of it. From the floral dresses with combat boots to Saved by the Bell and Dawson’s Creek, the 90s are my jam. (I know. I’m a dork).

A bunch of people on my Facebook feed have mentioned watching Dawson’s Creek lately and that has sent me down Nostalgia Lane. I’ve decided to force you down that road with me with five of the best 90s one hit wonders. I dare you not to sing along…

Top 5 Tuesday: Paul Rudd Movies

Top 5 Paul Rudd Movies: Clueless

The only good thing about Tim and the girls being gone for a few days last week (aside from two glorious nights of uninterrupted sleep) was the fact that I had free range on the TV for the first time in a long time. I was flipping through movies on Netflix when Clueless popped up. I immediately knew what I was watching.

And let me tell you: it’s still as good as it was in the 90s–which can’t be said for a lot of the movies I loved back then (I’m talking to you, Empire Records). I love this movie and Paul Rudd, who I totally forgot was in it. The more I watched it, the more I loved on Paul Rudd and started thinking about all of the other movies he’s in.

That’s when I decided I had to put together a list of my favorite Paul Rudd movies. Because I love lists. And I love Paul Rudd. And I love movies. And combining all of them sounded like a pretty freakin fantastic idea at the time. But it was no easy task. Here goes…

Best 90s TV Shows Ever

Best 90s TV shows: Saved by the Bell

Between Girl Meets World, the boy band reunion tour, and Justin Timberlake bringing sexy back, I’ve been in full-on 90s nostalgia mode lately.

I took to my Facebook page a couple of weeks ago to see if I was the only one. I asked my pals over there what their favorite 90s TV show was and was surprised that there wasn’t an overwhelming favorite. I figured Friends or Seinfeld for sure, but there was a wide range of nostalgia going down.

I thought I’d share my top three picks. OK, it’s more like five picks, but they’re forever tied together in my head so back up off me!

about the momma

Hi! I'm Jen, a freelance writer and girl mom who loves reading the newest children’s books as much as I love a good psychological thriller. I believe fiercely in the power of kindness, empathy, and really good quality chocolate. When I'm not knee-deep in glittery crafts and girl talk, you can probably find me sprawled out on my couch in the middle of a Netflix marathon with dark chocolate smeared on my face. The struggle is real. Learn more about me here.
