Majestically Awkward podcast | Awkwardness in the Workplace

Majestically Awkward podcast | where awkward friends talk about awkward things

Majestically Awkward: the podcast for socially awkward people by socially awkward people, that hopes to leave you feeling just a little less awkward. No promises though. 😉

Sometimes shit can get real awkward at work. Those are the times we’re talking about this week. We talk about Tim’s coworker who picked up “treasures” from curbside garbage and cleaned them in the office. We talk about the weird things coworkers and clients said to me while I was pregnant. We talk about the time Janine was bitching about her boss and realized he could hear every word she was saying.

Next, we play Is This for Real? with band names. Tim found some doozies.

We wrap up with a listener-submitted awkward story about losing gloves at a movie theater.

As always, our show is not safe for kids. Our potty mouths flow freely and we discuss adult topics that I wouldn’t want my kids hearing.

Also, if you’d like to play along with us for our Is This for Real? segment, don’t scroll down until after you listen. There are spoilers ahead!

Majestically Awkward: the podcast for socially awkward people by socially awkward people, that hopes to leave you feeling just a little less awkward. No promises though. 😉

In this episode, we’re talking about small talk—one of the things Janine and I are the most awkward with. She claims to have Resting Bitch Face. I have the opposite problem. When we combine forces, the awkward is off the charts.

We discuss talking to random strangers (including the woman who disagreed with my chicken nuggets purchase), friends of friends, and also touch on confronting rude people (…and how uncomfortable it makes me).

Next up, we play Is This for Real? with rap lyrics again. There were a lot of asses in this round.

We wrap up by talking about my first kiss.

Majestically Awkward: the podcast for socially awkward people by socially awkward people, that hopes to leave you feeling just a little less awkward. No promises though. 😉

This week we’re talking about money and trying to figure out why it’s so freaking awkward to talk about. We discuss different ways we feel like we’ve been judged regarding money, times when bad tippers have left us cringing, and the tough time we have pricing our freelance services.

Next up, we play Is This for Real? with weird names. Tim unearthed some doozies.

We wrap up by talking about Janine’s friend’s awkward encounter at a gas station.

We have a special guest in the studio this week! My brother stopped in to add a little dash of extra perspective.

We’re talking about the questions that women get asked (most notably on the red carpet) that men don’t—and we’re kind of pissed that we recorded it before the Golden Globes and the glorious display of girl power that washed over the whole event, but what can you do? We must certainly would have discussed #TimesUp.

The fury comes out in full force when Tim doesn’t seem to understand what we’re so riled up about.

On a much lighter note, we play a really fun round of Is This for Real?—this time Janine and I test the boys’ knowledge of (absolutely ridiculous) beauty products.

We wrap it all up by trading awkward stories about drinking in high school.

As always, our show is not safe for kids. Our potty mouths flow freely and we discuss adult topics that I wouldn’t want my kids hearing.

Majestically Awkward: the podcast for socially awkward people by socially awkward people, that hopes to leave you feeling just a little less awkward. No promises though. 😉

In this episode, we discuss puberty—because what’s more awkward than that?

We talk about our painfully awkward style and wonder why tweens today don’t seem to go through a stage as awkward as we did. We also talk about how the digital age has made things more difficult and share awkward stories from our pubescent years.

In our Is This for Real? segment, we turn to horror movies again. Tim unearthed some real doozies this time around.

Lastly, I talk about an awkward encounter with a stranger in Barnes and Noble.

Please note that no horses were harmed in the making of this podcast. If you’d like to complain about my dislike for the creatures, please feel free to refer to this blog post for more ammunition and to maybe find a few troll-y friends.

about the momma

Hi! I'm Jen, a freelance writer and girl mom who loves reading the newest children’s books as much as I love a good psychological thriller. I believe fiercely in the power of kindness, empathy, and really good quality chocolate. When I'm not knee-deep in glittery crafts and girl talk, you can probably find me sprawled out on my couch in the middle of a Netflix marathon with dark chocolate smeared on my face. The struggle is real. Learn more about me here.
