Fashionable Celebrity Moms

fashionable celebrity moms heidi klum

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, I thought today would be a great day to celebrate some of my favorite fashionable celebrity moms. These ladies prove that once we’ve had our precious little bundles we don’t have to retire into the world of mom jeans and sloppy ponytails (although some days it might seem soooo much easier). With a few solid staples, you can put together a comfortable look that is quick and easy but leaves you looking polished.

With a good pair of skinny jeans, some comfy flats, a dress to mix things up, and some fun accessories, you can create a comfortable look that’s perfect for a mom on the go. While it might be easier to pull on the yoga pants and not think about it, you’d be surprised at how much more confident you feel when you put just a little bit of effort into polishing your look.

Who are your favorite fashionable celebrity moms?

(PS Camila Alves is another incredibly fashionable celebrity mom!)

Pretty Palette: Tangerine Tango and Teal

I love grabbing fashion inspiration from pretty photos. This particular photo is so dreamy and summery. It incorporates this year’s hot color (Tangerine Tango), pretty peach tones and gorgeous watery teals. I’m a sucker for the water hues…

90s Fashion Like Woah.

Is it just me, or do you see 90s-inspired fashion just about everywhere lately? I’d be lying if I told you I didn’t like it. In fact, aside from the floral jeans, I love it!

Sienna Miller now. Cher and Dee then.
Kelly Kapowski then. Minka Kelly now.
Rachel Bilson and Mary Kate Olsen now. Angela and Rayanne then.

I dressed more like Angela and Rayanne in the 90s than any of the other girls here. Over-sized flannels were my go-to piece, mostly because I hit puberty before most of my friends. I was desperately searching for something to hide the breasts that had suddenly sprouted and earned comments like “I see you’ve done a lot of growing this summer” from male classmates. Oh yes. That happened. And yes, I was mortified.

To this day I’m still drawn more to the flannel trend than any of the other 90s comebacks (although I do love the dark, flowy floral print dresses and skirts!).

What about you? Were you high fashion like Cher and Dee? All American like Kelly? Or grungy like Angela and Rayanne?

Vintage Love

I’m having a little bit of a love affair with all things vintage at the moment. Blame it on Mad Men, blame it on being knee deep in weddings (where vintage is all the rage). Wherever the blame lies, I’m grateful for it. Vintage pieces are (sometimes) cheap, nice to the environment, and full of history. How can you go wrong?

Some people love vintage. Some people get all skeeved out at the thought of it and consider it other people’s trash. What do you think?

Obsession of the Week: Bezel Set Studs

Hello lovelies! Sorry I’ve been a little MIA of late. I haven’t commented on your blogs as much as I’d like to (but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been squealing over them!) and I haven’t had as much content on this blog as I’d like but that’s because I’ve been working obsessively on my new bridal blog and magazine, Bijou. It’s incredibly exciting and terrifying all at once and I can’t wait to share it with all of you at the end of this month (eeee!).

bezel-set-round-diamond-stud-earringsIn the meantime, I wanted to share another current obsession of mine. I’m totally in love with all things bezel set at the moment. It’s so classic and clean! So when Anjolee offered to send me some diamond stud earrings, my interest was immediately piqued.

When I looked into the company a little bit closer and realized you can basically customize your own pieces and I learned that they’re committed to being eco-friendly, I was sold! I got my pretties in the mail about a week ago and I haven’t taken them out since (OK, so they didn’t send me actual diamonds, but they sent me a pretty sweet cubic zirconia version).

Aside from diamond earrings, Anjolee also has some gorgeous options for anniversary rings for women.

What do you think? Are you with me on clean, classic jewelry? Or are you more of a trendy statement piece kind of girl? I like to mix and match and as soon as I get myself together, I’ll do a few outfit posts so you can see both my new sparkly earrings and the cobalt pants that I finally bought in action!

* I received a pair of Anjolee studs for review, but the opinions expressed in this post are strictly my own.

about the momma

Hi! I'm Jen, a freelance writer and girl mom who loves reading the newest children’s books as much as I love a good psychological thriller. I believe fiercely in the power of kindness, empathy, and really good quality chocolate. When I'm not knee-deep in glittery crafts and girl talk, you can probably find me sprawled out on my couch in the middle of a Netflix marathon with dark chocolate smeared on my face. The struggle is real. Learn more about me here.
