At the start of this month I mentioned that October is Squirrel Awareness month. Really serious, important stuff right there. But as anyone who doesn’t live under a rock knows, October is also Breast Cancer Awareness month, which is a wee bit more important than staying aware of large tree-dwelling rodents.
I couldn’t really allow the month to go by giving love to squirrels but not to boobs, so I rounded up a great group of Etsy products that donate proceeds to a breast cancer charity.
Baroque for Boobs crystal necklace from DK Jewels. As if the awesome name of this necklace isn’t enough of a reason to make you want to go ahead and buy it, 1/3 of the sale price will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. If this piece doesn’t strike your fancy, there’s a whole section of their shop dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness pieces (including earrings that match this necklace!).
Hope bracelet by PetitBlue. I love a good arm party and this simple piece would be a perfect addition. Plus, looking down at your wrist and seeing hope staring back at you sounds pretty fantastic to me. 100 percent of the proceeds go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Pink Velvet Wookies from Sweet Vegan Delight. OK, wait. Vegan pink velvet wookies (sandwhich + cookie = wookie), where have you been all my life? These sound absolutely delicious. They’re also dairy free, egg free, gluten free, nut free, and yeast free. $3 from every order of eight sold in October will go to The National Breast Cancer Foundation.
Fight Like a Girl bracelet by JT Sky Designs. I love this line. It’s so empowering, isn’t it? Part of each sale will go to a donation to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. And check out their Cancer Jewelry section for more empowering pretties.
4-pack of cinnamon coffee cake in a jar with spice buttercream frosting by Walk for Hope. My sweet tooth is killing me here! But honestly, even better than the deliciousness that awaits inside those jars, is the story of the sisters behind it. 100 percent of the proceeds go to Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure, which is a 3-day, 60-mile walk that the sisters will do next month in San Diego. They will walk in memory of their mom and for their older sister who was diagnosed the year after their mother died.
Rachael pink topaz necklace by Lotus Stone. This necklace is the definition of pretty in pink. Delicate and feminine, it would make the perfect gift for any lady in your life (including yourself since the husband probably won’t get the hint). And if you’re feeling especially saucy, pick yourself up the matching earrings and make it a set. Half of the revenue will go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s “general donations” fund, which will zap away any buyer’s remorse you may otherwise have had.
Knotted leather and silver nugget wrap bracelet by Ida Estelle. I love pieces with versatility and this one definitely has that. Either wrap it around your wrist (instant arm party!) or wear it as a pretty layered necklace. There is also a Breast Cancer Awareness section in this shop and at the end of the month, thirty percent of the sales from all of those bracelets will go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
I love that you’re featuring artists who celebrate the fight save boobs! Thank you for including my bracelet and shop!
No problem, Allison! Your bracelet is a beauty! 🙂
Ahahaha I love your blog! Squirrel awareness month cracks me up, and your daughter’s interview about current events was just adorable. Thank you so much for taking the time to honor breast cancer awareness month here. It’s always encouraging to see how many people are willing to make a sacrifice of their time and talents for the greater good (that includes you!).
Thanks so much, Kristen! It’s always nice to be able to feature people who give so generously to a good cause!
Lovely pink finds for a very worthy cause….thanks for sharing!!!
