My seven year old woke up this morning and the first thing she did was pull out some of her prank toys (her favorite is the old nail through the finger trick). When I looked confused, she returned my expression with a look that said you’ve got to be kidding me, woman! “Mom! It’s April Fool’s Day!” she said, exasperated. “I have to trick my friends.”
I never really got into the whole April Fool’s Day thing, but this kid has always loved the idea of it. That said, I do love a good gag gift. And gag gifts work all year round. Not just on one day that I always manage to forget.
So I hunted around for some silly gifts to keep in my arsenal of ideas for upcoming birthdays and other special occasions. Take a peek.
1 F bomb paperweight | 2 fake gift box | 3 Thanks for Having My Back trophy | 4 ninja umbrella | 5 nice underwear doormat | 6 animal butt magnets
I’m a big fan of that fake gift box, if for nothing else but to see the look of pure confusion on a person’s face followed by a mad scramble to look appreciative while simultaneously wondering WTF?! That, my friends, is what we call good times.
Have you guys ever done a white elephant gift exchange? We did one with our friends over the holidays last year and it was a lot of fun. My favorite gift would have to be the horse head. While I am not a fan of the beasts, I can totally appreciate the hilariousness of the thing. In fact, I used it to scare the ever-living crap out of my sister one day when I pulled up next to her car while wearing it. Again, good times.
What do you guys think? Are you a fan of gag gifts or do you think they’re just a waste of money?
I love the ninja umbrella and the crib dribbler is very funny.
I think that crib dribbler box is going to have to go to the next new mom in my life! 😉
I love the animal butt magnets!
Aren’t they ADORABLE? My girls would absolutely love them. lol.
The crib dribbler is so wrong, but so funny. Moms would certainly get a bit more rest if that was a real product 🙂
Hahaha! So true, Gloria! I kind of wish I had one for Ellie! 😉
