It’s safe to say I’m a wee bit gift wrap obsessed. I absolutely love wrapping presents. I know full well that nine times out of ten the person on the receiving end won’t even notice my efforts. But I don’t care.
For me, it’s kind of like a chef obsessing over flawless plating. So much thought has gone into your little gift, why slap any old paper on it and call it a day?
Still, while I’m a big fan of presentation, I’m an equally big fan of cheap. I don’t want to throw tons of money at paper that’s just going to end up in the garbage. That just seems kind of silly.
As you can imagine, when pretty and inexpensive are combined I immediately wet my pants and squeal with glee.
Of course, I have a little (ok, no so little) Pinterest board filled with gift wrap inspiration that makes my heart go pitter patter. I picked a few of my current favorites to show off in the hopes that they will inspire you (and me!) this holiday season.
Rudy Wrap by Maize Hutton
Woven ribbons by Mini-eco
Pringles can turned cookie container by A Baker’s House
Hand-stamped wrapping paper by Paper & Stitch
DIY mini Christmas trees by Fellow Fellow
Bunting by Annixen
Interactive kids gift wrap by Lines Across
Fringe wrap by Mint
I love that almost every single one of these uses craft paper, which you can get for super cheap on Amazon—especially when you compare the price to seasonal wrapping paper. Added bonus: craft paper is a blank canvas that will work for any occasion during the year. You don’t have to pack it away at the end of the season and hope you remember where you put it or that you have it before you go on a wrapping paper buying spree.
Looking for more inspiration? Check out my gift wrap inspiration post from last year. Also, I have a gift wrap DIY post in the works. Be sure to check back for it!
PS Don’t hate me, but my gift guides are starting up this week! I kind of can’t wait.
I can’t wait for our party!!! I’m gonna hit the ribbon section hard at michaels lol.
Neither can I! And Jo-Ann Fabrics just opened up too. SO.MUCH. CRAFTING. lol
Such great ideas!!!
Thanks! I’m really loving the cheap factor right now. I think I’m going to try the fringe first!
