Jennifer Lawrence Hunger Games Premiere

Before I start, I should admit that I’ve never seen one of her movies. Strange, I know, but true. Silver Linings Playbook is totally on my list. I just haven’t made it happen yet.

But that doesn’t matter. Familiar with her work or not, I have a total girl crush on Jennifer Lawrence.

My Jennifer Lawrence lovin’ all started last year at the Hunger Games premiere with this dress.

Jennifer Lawrence Hunger Games PremiereI wrote a post last year about how in love I was with this look. It’s not something I would ever wear but she looked absolutely amazing in it. Like, insane. And I was immediately jealous (mostly of her butt). It was the first time I took notice of her.

From there I just seemed to stumble upon more and more reasons to crush on her. So what do I do when I develop major crushes on celebrities? Why I force reasons you should love them down your throat, of course.

Here are 5 reasons you should love Jennifer Lawrence too.

1. She is a 90s movies dork and it got her into trouble.

Say what?!

Does anyone remember her Golden Globes acceptance speech? She got on stage, grabbed her statue and said “I beat Meryl!” People were a bit taken aback and Lindsay Lohan even took to Twitter to vent her outrage that Jennifer would mess with a legend.

But it was all for naught, my friends. Jennifer was just quoting Bette Midler in First Wives Club. I’m sorry but how can you not love someone who quotes a 90s girl power movie in her Golden Globes acceptance speech?!

2. Her interviews on the red carpet are always epic.

Even if we discuss this year’s Oscars alone, you can’t avoid how down to earth and easy to relate to this girl is. She spoke to Kristin Chenoweth about their mutual love of Dance Moms. She compared herself to Steve Martin in Father of the Bride when talking to Ryan Seacrest and tried to growl a message at Emma Stone with E!s mani cam (sadly it wasn’t working).

Still, I think my favorite part was how she told pretty much everyone how hungry she was was because her crazy family-filled prep left her no time to eat.

By the way, you have to check out this video of her family swarming her in an epic bear hug after she does an interview with ET post-Oscar win.

3. She makes the best, most exaggerated facial expressions pretty much ever.

Need I really say more? Just take a look at the gif above. There’s nothing calculating and meticulously planned about any of her movements or gestures. She’s no Beyonce level diva. And don’t get me wrong. For some reason I have a soft spot for Beyonce. But I totally prefer someone who is so unscripted that she constantly has to explain herself.

4. She has celebrity crushes.

The language in this clip is potentially NSFW or small children (depending on where you work and how often you curse in front of your kids) but, it’s so endearing.

5. The girl is a no bullshit queen.

I know I already mentioned how great she is on the red carpet when ridiculous questions are being thrown at her. My focus there was more on her nervous, quirky, real girl answers. But there’s also another side of her that is completely honest and sarcastic. This mash up of questions and answers after she won is pretty hysterical.

Alright. Are you with me on this girl crush? Do you have one of your own?
