Girls summer fashion

I’m a big fan of a good deal. I’m not an extreme couponer by any stretch of the imagination, but I don’t buy anything without looking for some sort of coupon or discount code–especially if I’m making a purchase online. When Coupons.com offered me a $50 gift card to The Children’s Place to put together as many looks as possible, I took it as a direct challenge.

My little one does not need any clothes. In fact, between hand-me-downs from her big sister and friends, I should really weed some things out for donation or to sell to places like thredUP. Samantha, however, was in serious need of some summer options.

So, on Memorial Day weekend–when there were some great sales!–I headed on over to The Children’s Place in search of pieces that could mix and match effortlessly. We ended up with these three looks (and Ellie’s bathing suit!).

My favorite part is that Samantha can put together so many different looks with these pieces and a few others she already has (like say jean shorts or a white tee) and I know she won’t clash too terribly. She’s at the age where she wants to put her outfits together herself and they sometimes still make me cringe a little. Or a lot.Girls summer fashionGirls summer fashion

Girls summer fashionCan we talk about the sass for a second before moving on to my money saving details and an awesome giveaway? The poses this girl came up with had me rolling with laughter. I have no clue where she got some of them, but it was obvious she was trying to mimic something she’s seen. Love her!

OK, so. I used the e-gift card and a coupon code to buy the tiered skirt, one-shouldered ruffle top, peace tank, striped skort, polka dot bikini, pink dress, peace necklace and a zipper bracelet (which she promptly lost at school because, of course). Before tax and shipping my total came to $49.66. If I had purchased everything full price, it would have cost $105.70. Major score!

Now, on to the giveaway! Coupons.com has generously offered to give one $50 e-card to a Cuddles and Chaos reader. They still have some fab sales going on over there, so it’s the perfect time to stock up on summer pieces!

Here’s what you need to do to enter:
