“No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted.” —Aesop
In hopes of talking less and doing more when it comes to helping others, I’ve started a series I’m calling Good Samaritan Saturday. On Saturday mornings, I’ll post a little something you can do to start your weekend out with positive vibes by helping to lift someone else up…
Did you know that one in three mothers in the US struggles to provide their babies with clean diapers?
Unbeknownst to many of us who are cringing at the grocery store at these expensive essentials before throwing them into our carts with a shrug, there are so many families out there that don’t have the luxury of that little shrug. They just can’t do it. And there aren’t many public resources to help them out.
Enter Northeast Doulas and Westchester Diaper Bank. They’ve partnered up to raise awareness for these families and their babies with the 3rd Annual No Child Wet Behind Diaper Drive, 5K and Family Fun run at FDR Park in Yorktown Heights on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 8:30 – 12:30. In addition to live music, a shopping boutique, food and more, there will be tons of children’s activities—including a craft sponsored by Cuddles and Chaos! All diapers and a portion of the proceeds will benefit The Westchester Diaper Bank.
So get out your running (or walking) shoes, a stroller, and the biggest bag of diapers you can afford and join us for a day of fun that will keep cute little baby butts nice and dry.
