In hopes of talking less and doing more when it comes to helping others, I’ve decided to start a series I’m calling Good Samaritan Saturday. Each Saturday morning, I’ll post a little something you can do to start your weekend out with positive vibes by helping to lift someone else up. This week we’re spreading the love with a #RandomLoveLetter challenge.
“No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted.” —Aesop
Doing good doesn’t always mean spending money. Sometimes your time or random acts of kindness can be just as uplifting to someone who needs a little shift in perspective. That’s why I love the #randomloveletter challenge that’s happening over on Instagram.
I first heard of it when I saw the picture above on Olivia from Atiliay‘s feed. Started by @randomolive and @sarahdshotts, their mission is simple: to fill the world with one million random love letters between June 1 – June 30 (for more info and a little bit of inspiration, check out their handy list).
I love this idea! I’m a big believer in the idea that a little bit of kindness goes a long way. I’m also pretty sure my almost-nine year old will be more than excited to participate. Check my Instagram feed to see how we’re spreading the love!
Until then, here are a few random love letters I found through their hashtag on Instagram:
I love that each message is like a mini pep talk and that you’ll leave them behind in secret. There’s something powerful about the fact that the person who finds it will have no idea who left it. The mystery makes it even more magical! It’s sort of fun to try and imagine the faces of the people who will find your little notes.
I can’t wait to get started!
Thanks so much for the shout out! You have a cute blog! 🙂
