I have a soft spot for bright, whimsical decor. White walls with pops of color in unexpected combinations and lots of fun texture just reaches out and grabs me and gives me a big, happy hug. It’s sometimes a little kooky (although I prefer to call it quirky) and can dangerously straddle a line of color vomit, but that doesn’t really deter me. I like a good challenge, in fact.
Lately I’ve been noticing myself swooning over kids rooms more and more—and not just for the girls. I’ve been wanting to grab on to some of the ideas and sprinkle them all over my house.
This chalkboard gallery wall is perfect for the kitchen. It’s a great place to jot down things you want to remember, start a grocery list, or post the week’s menu. It’s also a handy spot for the kids to doodle on while you make lunch.
I’m sorry, but that alphabet dresser is fantastic. I would have no problem keeping it in the living room to store games or DVDs. And don’t even get me started on the rug and wall hanging.
I love everything about this space: the bold mixed prints, the wild color palette, the floating lanterns. It’s so fun and playful.
While it would probably be too dark for me to live with for any extended period of time, I love the moodiness of this room. Also, I want that light fixture (in a different color) in my kitchen. So cool!
I’ve been looking for a solution for the space behind our bed for a while now and this washi tape headboard just might be it. The simple skyline reminds me of a comic book, which my husband would love. But could I get him to go for the cloud mobile?!
OK, so it might not exactly qualify as decor, but this wooden shelving is insane. I absolutely love it and I love how it was styled.
I would give up chocolate for a gold polka dot wall. OK, maybe not chocolate. But something else that I like. Also, that wall hanging! Swoon.
Magnetic wallpaper in a fun print?! YES PLEASE!
I would take any bit of this room in any of the rooms in my house. The gallery wall and mixed textures and colors and patterns. I just love it!
