Last winter I wrote a post for Wee Westchester about the best indoor spaces for kids in northern Westchester. Wanting a diverse spread of places, I turned to Facebook to ask some of my momma friends what their favorite spots were and was really excited to include some new-to-me places that people raved about.
One of those spots was Chappaqua’s WeeZee, a self-described “play, fitness and learning facility for children 0 through 12 of all abilities.” When they reached out to see if the girls and I wanted to stop in and try it out for ourselves, I totally jumped at the chance. We were not disappointed.
What is it?
WeeZee is basically your typical indoor play space if it were to level up.
Not only does this 18,000 square foot space have the usual climbing and jumping and sliding that you expect from indoor playgrounds, but their entire mission is built around sensory experiences. The people at Weezee have basically built stations that engage each of your senses while letting kids explore music and movement and science—and having a ton of fun.
Why we like it
The girls’ eyes lit up as soon as we walked in, simply because this space is unlike any we’ve ever been in. The more they looked around and explored, the more they loved it. Samantha rode a mile and a half on the stationary bike while steering through a virtual course. Both girls swung happily on tire swings and big fabric hammocks and played real songs on a big keyboard. Ellie could have spent all day in the ball pit inside GalaxZee. She loved that the black light made her clothes and necklace glow.
After a few hours had passed and we had to go, they made me promise we’d be back before their shoes were even on.
WeeZee has a bunch of different programs available—from the After School Zone to birthday parties, camps, classes and play passes. They also have a new ASK program which integrates the services of WeeZee and Access Healthcare, so that children that use therapy services (physical, occupational and speech therapies) can use Access Nursing’s therapists at WeeZee’s facilities.
My girls and I guarantee that no matter what you’re looking to get from the facility, you’ll have fun!
