In our house, we don’t need no stinkin’ equinox. We know it’s officially fall once we make our annual apple picking pilgrimage—kind of like how blog readers know it’s officially fall by the sudden inundation of apple picking photos in their feed. #sorrynotsorry 😉
Today I’m over at Wee Westchester talking about our favorite place to go apple picking each fall: Wilkens Farm. Since I had about 8,000 photos from that day, I thought I’d share a few here too.
The orchard is beautiful and, as you can tell from the photos, we couldn’t have picked a better day to go. We were afraid we were going to be freezing, but the sky was clear and the sun kept us warm. There were plenty of apples to choose from so even little Miss Ellie Bean could reach some and pick for herself.
Make sure you click over to Wee Westchester to see a few more shots from our trip and a little bit more on why we love this farm (spoiler alert: apple cider donuts. Sadly, my gluten hating tummy couldn’t partake this year but the smell alone was almost as good as actually eating one).
Now to figure out what to do with all of these friggin’ apples…
Omg I have a seriously addiction when it comes to apple cider donuts – drool! What a beautiful day for apple picking!
They’re SO good— and you can even watch them being made at the bakery there. It’s pretty cool!
