Mom Uniform | Styling TOMS via Putting Me Together

I’m addicted to my TOMS. Not only do I love a good, socially conscious company (for every product sold, TOMS helps a person in need), but I love a shoe that requires absolutely zero effort and goes with just about everything. And the fact that you just slip them on makes them even easier—because let’s face it, after struggling to get your kids’ shoes on (switching feet and pulling laces tighter and finding rogue shoes under dusty beds), the last thing you need is a shoe that requires effort. Unless, of course, you’re totally ok with turning back around only to see that you need to start the shoe process with your kids all over again.

That said, I’ve been wearing my TOMS exactly the same way every day since the weather turned warmer: with straight leg jeans and a v-neck t-shirt. I was about to get all down on myself and my thoughtless wardrobe choices when I checked out the ways other ladies have styled their TOMS. The vibe was similar: easy, breezy and low maintenance. Which is kind of my middle name.

Each of these ladies look casual but together. They each added at least one extra piece, whether it be a scarf or a kimono, to elevate their looks. That means I’m one tiny step away from looking so much more put together.

So the lesson learned here is that you cannot go wrong when incorporating TOMS into your mom uniform. Shorts, jeans, layers, tees, it all works, which is why these comfy sneaks have become a staple for so many busy women.

One little tip for the summer months: it may be tempting to go sock less. I for one hate having my feet covered in anything (bare, dirty feet #forthewin). But. But! You will extend the life of your shoes and not be embarrassed to kick them off if you wear them with some no-show low-cut liner socks—just make sure they fit or you’ll be annoyed all day (my big feet do not get along well with the whole “one size fits all” ridiculousness).
