Handmade Haven: Summer Artwork

Samantha’s last day of summer camp was last Friday, which is making the onslaught of fall seem all the more real. I’m not really ready for cooler temperatures and structured schedules. I’m enjoying the easy breezy summer. I’m finally starting to embrace hair that can’t be tamed and dewy (aka sweaty) skin.

I’m pretty positive that once gloomy winter rears its head, I’m going to be grasping for any bit of summer I can find. That’s why my handmade finds today are all summer-themed works of art. I like the idea of hanging a little masterpiece in the house that I can look at when summer seems way too far away.

Any of these lovely finds would do just the trick…

Covet: Mirror Collage

I love mirrors. Not because I’m particularly vain, but because they’re shiny and (as I’ve mentioned), I’m a bit of a magpie.

I like sparkle and I like light and mirrors help with both of those things.

Enter Anthropologie’s Collected Memories Mirror:

This handmade collection is made of found mirrors, which means no two are exactly alike. I would want one just like the one shown in this picture!

How great would this be for a big, blank wall?

With a $700 price tag and no sure idea of what it will look like when you get it, I don’t see myself purchasing this guy anytime soon. But a girl can still drool, right?

Could make for a fab DIY project though, couldn’t it?

about the momma

Hi! I'm Jen, a freelance writer and girl mom who loves reading the newest children’s books as much as I love a good psychological thriller. I believe fiercely in the power of kindness, empathy, and really good quality chocolate. When I'm not knee-deep in glittery crafts and girl talk, you can probably find me sprawled out on my couch in the middle of a Netflix marathon with dark chocolate smeared on my face. The struggle is real. Learn more about me here.
