I went shopping with my sister just before Christmas to try and finish off our lists (shopping with her is always a mistake ;)). She talked me into buying a pair of G by Guess boots to make herself feel better for buying them (don’t try and deny it, Michele!). She also argued that if she got the brown pair and I got the gray/black pair we could share since we have the same (huge) foot size.
Now, I’d be lying if I told you she really had to twist my arm. They were on sale and after that combined with coupons, I got them for less than half the regular price (score!).
On top of the awesome deal goodness, my new boots have really rounded out my winter basics. My new uniform of sorts is usually a variation on these basics:
shown here: Old Navy cardi, Frenchi scarf, Forever21 skinnies,
G By Guess boots (via eBay)
Sometimes I’ll substitute leggings and/or a dress. Sometimes I’ll add a second cardigan. But more often than not, this is what I’m wearing this winter (maybe one of these days I’ll show you a photo of my actual outfit. Maybe).
What about you? Do you have a “uniform” you’ve been defaulting to lately?
I actually wore something very similar yesterday!!
Thank you for being such a wonderful blogging friend in 2011!
Wishing you many blessings for 2012!
Anna
These is what I like to wear on winter time. Comfy and warm. Happy weekend!
Mode Monday
This week my fashion feature is about breaking out of a fashion rut. I was totally stuck in a uniform. I ditched the skinnies for a new pair of jeans.

those are so chic!
I hate that its getting cold out down south, Im so use to 50-60 weather around this time of year lol.
This is the very same look I have been defaulting to lately and like you, sometimes I’ll substitute leggings and a dress. I’ve even been wearing this to work because things have been slow but starting next week I’m going to try to branch out from my “uniform” and go back to more business casual at work. But you can bet on the weekends I will be wearing this. 🙂
It’s so easy and so comfortable!
Those are awesome. I actually love an everyday uniform. Makes getting out the door easier and you can still be fashionable as you point out.
